HEALTH TIPS
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day
Many of us find it difficult to eat a healthy breakfast on the go. Here are some tips to make it easier on you!
Pick up portable breakfast items when at the grocery store. You should buy foods like fruit, low-fat yogurt, whole grain breakfast bars, or granola bars for those mornings when you have to eat breakfast on the go.
BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SERVICES
The behavioral health services provided by HACS are categorized within three service areas:
- Mental Health
- Substance Abuse Pre-Treatment and Treatment
- Medical Case Management
HACS behavioral health program first received accreditation through the Joint Commission in 2005. The behavioral health program originally began providing mental health and substance abuse treatment services under two different grants funded by the Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).
Today, our behavioral health services include substance abuse treatment and mental health therapy for adults. Our licensed clinicians are trained to provide behavioral health services in individual, group and family settings in order to most appropriately meet the needs of patients dealing with diverse stressors and conditions.

One of the most unique elements of HACS is the broad scope of people we help. Our patients come from all walks of life and many are facing difficult situations.
The treatment process in the majority of behavioral health cases includes screening a patient, forming an assessment, treatment planning, follow through and finally, discharge. All patients have twenty-four hour, on-call access to HACS' clinicians via a professional answering service. This service ensures that patients and the on-call clinician connect in urgent situations.
The HACS team includes social workers and service linkage workers who provide case management services to patients receiving medical care with our providers. These individuals assist clients with referrals needed in order to maintain positive health outcomes. The goal of this team is to ensure that patients have access to resources necessary to improve their well being.

It is our goal to provide patients with the skills to achieve a positive outcome. Behavioral healthcare is a gradual process, but when met with dedication and determination, vastly positive changes take place. The behavioral health staff at HACS is committed to helping you achieve the positive changes you desire in your life.
